My day with Chiara

Hey guys, it’s me again, Scaffy!
On Monday I went home with Chiara. It was a long, but funny busride to Chiara’s place. When we got home we had a little snack. After having a TV-break Chiara had to do her homework and I helped her with it, because I’m a very clever sheep, as you know! ;) When she had finally finished I learned something about art: Chiara showed me how to draw! My best drawing was a flower – hers were some more difficult.
In the afternoon we sang some wonderful songs. My favorite was „Things We Lost In The Fire“. Later Chiara’s mother came home from work. Then we had our dinner, which I also enjoyed very much. We had eggs with bacon! Yummy!
After that we had a sensual evening. Chiara’s house is already decorated very festively. A very beautiful advent calender is hanging at a wall in the living room. But I really liked the advent wreath. Here’s a pic of me sitting on it (between that was very funny, although I was a little bit scared of the flames):
In the end it was a very nice day with Chiara. See you soon my lovelies, your Scaffy J

Visiting Monika

Today I am at Monika´s home. She´s got two sisters and it is Lydia´s birthday today, but I will tell you more about her later. In the morning we went to a church near Monika´s flat. In the middle of the church there was a big Advent wreath. There were four candles on it. The first one was burning. We made a photoshooting there and you can see me sitting on the Advent wreath. After church we went home and ate lunch. The family had chicken (I only ate the salat).
In the afternoon the of Monika is whole family came and we celebrated Lydia´s birthday. We had a great fruitcake and I ate a very big piece. Monika´s little cousins always said that I was sooo sweet and after some time I hid in Monika´s room. We played a lot of great games together and ate a lot of sweets. A few minutes ago we played "cathing in the dark" outside but I was very cold so Monika and I went inside and now we are writing this together.
Hope you´re well,
Scaffy

A day at Magdalena's place

At her home she told me that she would like to make Christmas biscuits with me. One of the most famous sort of Christmas biscuits in Austria is gingerbread. I had always wanted to make gingerbread. First of all we put all the ingredients together. Then I was allowed to knead the dough. It was great fun! There was a great mess in the whole kitchen. Only Magdalena's mother was a little bit angry but I could understand her. When the dough was ready, we started to punch out the biscuits. There were many different shapes. But my favourite shape was a reindeer. Now there are more than thirty reindeer to eat :) When there wasn't any dough left, we put all the biscuits into the oven for half an hour. Meanwhile we went into the cellar to get some sugar-icing and other things for the decoration. Then we began to decorate the biscuits. All the cute reindeer got a nice red nose. When Magdalena's mother looked away we both nibbled a little bit. Yummy! While we were working Magdalena said that it was snowing outside. I was surprised when I looked into the garden and could see some snow (of course not a lot). After some time we were ready. We looked at our biscuits and were happy: They are fantastic! Here is a photo of one of my reindeer and beside there are the ingredients for the gingerbread and the decoration for the biscuits.

Archery, a great sport for sheep!

Hello guys. At the beginning I would like to thank you, because I was able to spend such great days with the kids from Austria and I hope, that it will stay as great as it is and we also enjoy the rest of our time together. Whatever, today was such a day, one day I had right a lot of fun, this time with Daniel. I had a great day, we went to an archery parcours .

But first of all I went with Daniel to his home. He lives in a small village called Hellmonsödt near Linz. I knew what I had before me, a long, serious parcours.  So I ate a large portion of spaghetti Bolognese to strengthen me. They were really tasty and so Daniel`s mother gave me a second portion. Then we went to the archery-center Breitenstein which is situated near Daniel`s house. The person at the reception gave me a children`s equipment. I couldn`t understand that, finally I´m an adult sheep so I wanted to complain, but then I remembered that wise man change his mind ,a fool never will. I was then happy about this decision, because the bow wasn`t so easy to draw.
Yet, I found that day just great and now I`m a real fan of archery and I`m confident that archery will be the next craze of sheep.

Luke Scaf Walker

Today  I was at Jonathan ´s house, Manuel was also there and so we had a real great afternoon. We played football, basketball and so on... but after some hours we got really bored and so we decided to make some pictures. When we had finished Manuel had a great idea: We could edit the images!
So we edited the pics of me into a Luke-Scafwalker (that was my idea :), because I love star wars), a fire sheep and me with  neon lights. We worked hours. But then we had finished and we were very happy about our work. Now it was very late and so we ate dinner (we ate Spaghetti  <3 ) and we watched TV  until Manuel was picked up by his dad, who had finished work,  and then I and Jonathan did our homework. I was really bored while we were doing homework. Then he studied Latin, because you have to study hard for it to pass. After that Jonathan and I went to bed. The next day was Sunday and so we could sleep long. We ate breakfast and then we went up the Gis, a mountain close to Linz. On top we ate ice cream and drank hot chocolate. After lunch I was picked up and I was given

to Monika.

A day with Mathias

On Thursday the 21th November I came to my friend Mathias. When school was over we drove, together with his friend Martin, home by bus. When Mathias opened the entrace we were welcomed by Lela. Lela is their cat which looks very cute and has a fluffy fur. She is 15 months old and very coltish, so I played with her for along time. I also got to know Mathias´ brother Julian, who is 7 years old. He goes to the”Karlhofschule” and also to the accordeon-lesson because he has been playing that nice melodic instrument for 3 months. At 4 o´clock we went downtown to go shopping. First we shopped at “H&M” for some clothes and a pair of shoes for me. I got a really nice orange jacketfor the winter. I think it suits me well. Besides we went to “Saturn” because Mathias needed some new headphones and a new computer screen. All in all it was a great day and I would like to meet Mathias again...

A day at Daniel’s home

Hi guys!
On Tuesday the 5th of November I came to Daniel after school. Then we went to his place, which is very close to the Petrinum and where he lives with his parents. There, Daniel made lasagne. He is a very good cook! After about one minute the “pling” of the microwave rang out. That was one of the shortest waiting times in my life!
Then we went up because Daniel wanted to show me his room. I was really shocked when I saw it! Daniel is a very messy boy. But suddenly I recognized some other animals in his room. Perhaps they created that disorder? There were an elephant, a toucan, a small birdie, and some other animals who didn’t want to be photographed. I played with them while Daniel was doing his homework.
Later Daniel showed me his balcony. From there you have a great view at his garden and Daniel said that he also could see the Petrinum. (I can’t believe that because I just saw lots of trees) It was very freezing outside, so we soon went in. Daniel had to practise guitar and we listened to him. It was very boring because he just played slow songs. I also tried it and it’s easier than it looks at the beginning.
At night I was allowed to sleep on Daniel’s couch with the other animals. I’m very looking forward at my time with Kathi,
Yours,
Scaffy

At the dentist's

Today I joined Paul in the afternoon visiting his father and taking his piano lesson. He had school until 3 o’clock and then we took the tram to the “Hauptplatz”. Then we went to Paul’s father’s surgery. His father is a dentist. He is the only dentist I like. He didn’t hurt me and didn’t complain about my green teeth, because I always forget to brush my teeth. But now I want to do it twice a day and Paul will remember me as often as he can. The rest of the time before the piano lesson started I looked at my white teeth. I have never seen such white teeth. But then Paul took me with him to the music school. His lesson teacher was very friendly to me. I learned fast and well. I can play piano pieces by Chopin and Mozart, my favourite classic composer. Then I listened to Paul’s music. He played “Una Mattina” and “Writing poems” by Ludovico Einaudi. I advise it to everyone to search it on Google and listen to the beautiful music. When the lesson ended luckily Paul’s mum took us home in the car, because outside it was raining heavily. At home we went to bed and I was glad to see my friends in 4b next morning.

A Trip to Fairyland

Hello friends!

The Halloween party was a blast. After only a few hours of sleeping my friend Felix picked me up for a trip to the Pöstlingberg, one of the most popular sights of Linz.

We took the Pöstlingbergbahn to go to the top. It’s the steepest adhesion railway of Europe!

First we went to the platform where you can enjoy the view over Linz. It was beautiful!

Afterwards we walked over to the Grottenbahn. Felix had told me that riding the Grottenbahn was a really fun thing to do – not only for little children.  ;)

The dragon Sebastian takes you into a cave, showing you around the sparkling world of the dwarves.

After the ride with Sebastian you go downstairs into a miniature Linz, where there is a lot going on! In small alleys you can meet all the stars of the Brothers Grimm‘s fairytales.

Oh my god! The dreadful wolf! Run as fast as you can!

The Grottenbahn was really cool and we ended our day with a drink.

What an exciting trip!

Celebrating Halloween with Josy

Hello! I’m back with another cool story! When I was at Felix I told you at the beginning that there was a Halloween-Party. Yes there was and I was really a blast!
So I was at Josef alias Josy`s place last night; Halloween, for sure, and it was a relly cool night! Josy had two friends there and first they printed their own newspaper (they also did last year) which is called „the yearly monster news“. I read it and there is a lot of fun in there, for example a story about Dracula who steals bloody sausage and things llike that. Then they went off the house…without me, because I think it was a bit too cold outside. But I watched TV with Josy’s little sister, Helen. That was actually fun, too!
Two hours later, Josy and his friends came back with a lot of sweets in a big plastig bag! And, without saying anything, they threw all the stuff over me! I had a bath in sweets! I would have never dreamed that in my young life!!! So I became Scaffy – the haunted sweet witch. UUUuuuuh, that name is actually creepy, isn’t it? After this, we all went playing some video games. I played with them, and I’m actually pretty good. At about 2:30 p.m we all wanted to sleep and went to bed. I fell asleep instantly but Josy, Lorenz and Daniel had a pillow fight. I wanted to fight on Josy’s side, but I was so tired that it never happened. Bye!

Your sheep,

Scaffy!!

Guinea pig day

Today I was at a friend´s home. She is in class 4B and her nickname is Kathy. She has two guinea pigs. They are such sweet animals! I immediately got along with them. Did you know, that they like the same food like I do? I ate grass with them! Yummy…! It was very, very good, because the grass came from a farmer. Furthermore, we got some vegetables. Then we played some funny games, for example catch. Of course I was the fastest!! But after some time I couldn´t run anymore and then we made a break. Probably I should train my endurance more. After some time they told me about their lives, and if they liked it to be a guinea pig. They said very positive things. After a while we made a photoshooting. I threw myself into position and I find that I looked very great. I think I looked like a successful model and I also think that I could present my figure well! I am very happy about the photos and I think it was a wonderful day!!!

What's up, people? It's Scaffy here.

On Friday the 25th October I went home with Manuel. He lives on a farm at the border of Linz and Kirchschlag with his parents, his elder brother, his younger sister and his grandmother. They have sheep! That's so cool. Unfortunately, we couldn' t see them, because they were too far away to see. Their sheep are not as cool as me, but they are related to me, so it's cool that his parents have sheep. At first we ate plum dumplings. They were really good. After dinner he did his homework, because he said, that he wouldn't have enough time to do it on Saturday or Sunday. Then Manuel and I played Playsation 3. He can't play Playstation 3 during the week, but at the weekends the sometimes plays it for about half an hour. His favourite game is Fifa 14, so we played a match. I chose the Irish National Team and he played with his favourite club Chelsea FC. On the picture you can see my favorite player. It is very difficult for me to play, because I don't have any fingers, but nevertheless I think Fifa 14 is a very cool game. Then we played football. I'm a very good goalkeeper, because I held a lot of his shots, but outside the goal I'm not so good. I think football is a very cool sport. It's not a traditional Irish sport, but it's really cool. Manuel told me, that he plays football with his brother or he plays football in his club. After playing football I listened to him, while he was playing the guitar. I also tried to play it, because in Ireland a lot of people play the guitar, but I think it looks easier than it is. But now I can already play some handles. In the evening we ate a snack and then we watched the "GROSSE CHANCE". It was fun to watch and there were a lot good talents. Manuel told me that he usually does these things at the weekend. During the week he can't always do that, because of homework and tests. So it was a really cool day!

A day with Tobias

On the 23th of October I went home with Tobias. We went to Gramastetten by bus, a village near Linz. After 30 minutes we arrived at Tobi’s place. He has got an older brother called Lukas and a younger sister called Hannah, who always called me Scafli. At first we ate lunch. After the meal Tobi had to do his homework so I helped him a bit and soon we were finished. Then we went outside in the big garden. We decided to play football. Tobi has got a small goal and his sister was the goalkeeper, but she was a miserable one! At the small match we played drawn. We became thirsty so we went inside to drink. After the drink Tobi had to learn for the Latin test and his sister played Playmobile with me. We had a lot of fun. Later while she was playing the flute I was listening to her. It was really nice. After that Tobi was finished with learning and we played a game called “Die Siedler von Catan”. I won the game. Then we ate supper and in the evening we watched TV, but I can’t remember the film.

On the next day I stayed at Tobi’s place while he was at school. His mother was at home and she took me to the supermarket. We bought a lot of things. In the afternoon Tobi and I went outside again. We climbed on a very high tree. It was a lot of fun. We played “Die Siedler von Catan” again but this time Tobias’ dad won. After dinner we watched Harry Potter “The Chamber of Secrets”. Then we went to bed.

On Friday Tobias gave me to Manuel and Jonathan.

A day on the football field

Today I watched a footballgame on the „Mühlviertler Alm“. That is a little area in the north of Austria. The team of Hellmonsödt was playing against the team of „Mühlviertler Alm“. It was a very exciting match, because both of them played a very fair and good match. But in the end „Mühlviertler Alm“ won 1:0. I was very sad, but the weather was very fine and the sun was shining, so Icould not be sad for a longer time.

I supported the team of Hellmonsödt, because in that team plays a new friend of mine. She is a 13-year-old girl and her friends also play in her team. Today it is still very seldom, that girls play football in a team, together with boys, but in Austria also girls are allowed to do this kind of sport.
This was a very funny day with my new friends and the team. ; )

The teams had to wear their own dresses, because every team has their own one. So you can see, who plays for which team. I was also allowed to wear a dress, because I was the mascot of my friend’s team. That was very funny, because all the people on the football field, had never seen a sheep at this place before.
At last, I want to show you the pictures I made:

In this photo I am wearing the dress of Hellmonsödt. I also played football, because I have to train, if I want to be a good football player.

Here you can see my new friends and me.

MY DAY WITH MAGDALENA AND JULIA

My day with them was so great! At first, we went to Magdalena's home by bus. There we ate typical Austrian food calles „Schnitzerl“.- No, sorry. I didn`t eat it, because it`s meat. I only ate the salad and the potatoes. It tasted great! After it we had a desert called „Gugelhupf“. I laughed about the name, I think it`s a funny one. „Gugelhuupf“ is a sort of cake. It also tasted very good.

After it, we watched a little bit TV - „How I Met Your Mother“. I think, that I really like it. Then we went or a walk. We made a lot of photos of us in the nature. After that, we went to Magdalena`s home again. There I sat on a cat! The cat`s called „Emily“. She`s really nice and now one of my best friends! Julia and Magdalena are almost neighbours, so we went to Julia`s home. There I saw Julia`s five-year-old brother Alexander. He`s really nice and he played with me. Then we went to Julias`s pets – The rabbits. Their names are „Dobby and Bambi“. Dobby`s a boy and Bambi`s a girl. They`re among my best friends now, too.

One day with a special girl

Hello my friends ! Last Friday I went home with Sophie. She invited me to her sister Emma´s birthday party. Emma just got three years old. But Emma is not a normal girl. She has a very rare genatic defect called CDKL5. There were only 3 people including Emma in Austria who have this defect, and only about 200 people in the world. Emma is handicapped, so she can not speak or walk. She also has epilepsy, but Emma takes medicine and this medicine stops Emma´s petit mal. She is an very funny girl, who is always laughing. She always snuggled me and also bit into my ear In the second picture you can see us: We were lying and we cross-legged our feet. That´s typical for CDKL5 kids. Sophie, Emma and I had a great day and I am the first sheep which has ever met a CDKL5 kid

Urfahranermarkt with Monika, Eva and Anna

Hello! On Sunday the 6th of October I went to the „Urfahranermarkt“ with Monika, Eva and Anna. It was very cool there. The Urfahranermarkt takes place only one week every half a year. When I was there, it was the last day. You can take a lot of rides like break dance, magic, chaos or crazymouse. These are the four vehicles I liked best! But there are not only rides, but also some sales stands where you can  buy clothes and jewelery. And of course also stands, which sell some things to eat. There were sausages called „Bratwürstel“ and also sweet things like fruit spears , which were covered with chocolate. They tasted so good! Under  the text you can see a picture with Anna and Eva and with me in the middle.
It was a very cool day with them!

I'm back!!!

Hi there, everyone!

In case you have already been wondering - YES, I am still alive!

I arrived safely in Austria at the end of last schoolyear. Helene welcomed me and I moved in with her in her flat in Linz. School was closed over the summer holidays, of course, so I had two months' time to discover the country on my own. Helene asked me if I wanted to go on vacation to the sea with her, but I felt a bit adventurous, so I did some backpacking around the country. As I wanted to travel light, I neither had my laptop nor my camera with me. That's why I didn't write anything on the blog and why I can't show you any pictures of my summer. I can just tell you that Austria is just... amazing! I am so glad that you guys gave me the chance to come back again!
I spent quite some time hiking in the Alps and met lots of welcoming Austrians there. The landscape was just breathtaking up at about 2000 metres above sealevel and often even higher. Also Austria's lakes are worth a visit. The water is blue and very clear - the lakes are famous for their drinking water quality. And as the weather was really, really hot this year (especially for a fluffy sheep used to Irish rain), it was refreshingly cold. Summer was awesome, but I have to say that after the holidays I was already looking forward to going back to school to meet some new students at the Petrinum in Linz.

And last week, the great day had come: I met class 4b and it was a really big welcome! Here they are:

This bunch of 13- and 14-year olds are a fabulous group! They wanted to know everything about me and my country. Everybody wanted to stroke and cuddle me in the classroom. I felt overwhelmed by their enthusiasm! I am so looking forward to spending some time with this lot. Helene told me that she was already getting my schedule ready to organise who can take me home with them during the next few weeks. And of course, I will keep you informed!

GOODBYE SIPOO, HELLO LINZ!

As my time in Finland was drawing to a close,
I was able to attend the Finnish graduation ceremony called 'lakitus
- that's Finnish for 'getting the white cap' as a sign of finishing upper secondary school.
All the students were dressed up for the occasion...

....there was music...

My 'old' friend Hassan even rapped for the graduates!

There were 44 of them this year, and they listened tearfully to Gaudeamus Igitur, an official farewell song to high school leavers in Finland (and elsewhere)...

Hopefully, getting back to Mozartland will give me inspiration
in my piano studies ;)
